Hello London (an email from Matt)
Hope this note finds everyone well. I started the first leg of my around the world trip yesterday when I arrived in London with my buddy Dan. He's a good friend of mine from high school and we'll be spending the next 62 days together on this 20 stop trip I've been blessed enough to have been given. I'll try to send frequent, and defintiely short updates to everyone when I can, so this is the first. We got to Heathrow at 7am and quickly lugged our incredibly heavy backpacks into the express shuttle and into the city. We're lucky enough to be staying in Islington at a nice flat of one of Dan's friends from Yale. It's a great place. We pushed through the jet lag and went to the tower or London/London Bridge, then called it a day around 7ish our time.Today we met up with Whitey, who's here for 3 days, and did all the touristy stuff and took obscene amounts of pictures. Buckingham's changing of the guard, Westminster Abbey, to name a few. We'll be doing more tomorrow before we head to Paris the morning of the 14th, so I hope to send more about this place as we go. Tonight will be our one 'night out' in the city, so we're looking forward to seeing what London has to offer 3 american guys. It won't be a Dartmouth basement or a Yale bar, so I think we'll all be pretty happy with the change of pace.Hope everyone is doing well, and definitely drop me lines whenever some of you get a chance, I'd love to keep up with everyone as we go.Take care and I'll talk to you all soon,Matt
